In my situation? I would go to Mann, GST, or AutoHQ. But, that's me.

But the fishy comment? That was meant for this thread. Something doesn't sound right....

Of Course I could've just went on the list and called the nearest shop, but after making this thread I Discovered more shops that aren't on the list that are closer to me such as Mann Engineering.

I also discovered that no home mechanic/tech wants to tackle this job. Which is totally understandable. Also getting repairs done at a shop should give me some kind of warranty. Garage 1 Auto gives a 12month/unlimited mile warranty on all repairs they do.

It is what it is, can't like or dislike, all it is is the truth.

Thanks Rau, by Fishy do you mean the Shop can be saying something fishy or by me posting this thread is fishy? haha

Anywhoo I think I'm going to get a second opinion and bring it to MAnn since they are closer to my house.

Thanks Rau.

So you're admitting you didn't read the thread. Great. Since it said to check the vendor forums, the vendor review forums, and the all-knowing Google... Simply searching for "subaru santa clara" yielded Mann Engineering as the top hit.

It isn't like this is rocket science or something.

I did read it, but as I stated earlier, I was looking for a home mechanic or a non specialty subaru automotive repair shop that are reliable and trustworthy.

Sativa04 - Are you sure Mann Engineering does head gasket jobs? I wasn't aware that they even did that kind of service.

Adizon I called them and they said they dont do engine repairs, but they are searching for a good mechanic to do so. So in the future they will be offering that service as of now it seems they only offer alignment, suspension, and brake install.

Thanks for asking.

If it means anything to you Gary from Mann Engineering has his cars put together by LIC motorsports. LIC does awesome work. I've been taking my car there for the last 7 years.

Thanks Adizon I'll give them a call. It seems like a lot of people reccommend them. I'll give them a ring.

These two shops are run by the most professional and passionate Subaru Experts there are.

Lucky to have them up here in the Bay Area
Umm, that would be up for debate. But, it's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. Do you know which side Bank 1 is on?

Why not give Speed Element a call? They are a vendor on this forum too.

The comment was directed at grnbean, who is singing the highest praises of some shops. My experience with one of the shops resulted in a VERY different outcome than his experience.
