Lightbulb Looking for car alarm, suggestions?

It's about that time I finally invest in an alarm for my car. Right now my 99RS just has the keyless entry remote and thats about it. My car has already been vandalized once so far and I get paranoid sometimes when I park it anywhere else besides my garage at home. So this is sort of my criteria:

-Reliable
-Affordable
-Useful functions
-Easy to install

Reccomend a good alarm installer (if necessary)

I looked through the Stereo&Security section but I'd still like some more ideas, thanks.

-Jeff

Doesn't subaru make a security upgrade (plug & play)?

If they do, you can enhace it by adding a hood/ trunk trigger, or whatever your heart desires.

Well the thing is I don't know what I want, I was hoping to get some input on how people like their current alarms plus any additional info. BTW where is city car radio?

Alarm = waste of money.

It won't stop vandals, and it won't stop a good thief. Spend the $300 on hookers and booze.

DEI makes good products, I'm actually looking into getting a 2 way system put in, because my car has been broken into twice in the past two weeks . . . and I no longer have a radio, oh and they damaged my console taking it out . . . bastards . . . *extends middle finger at noone in perticular*

Well I would still invest in one, but I would only get one that had vehicle tracking, otherwise its pointless.

DEI owns clifford... http://www.directed.com/

look at their "security" section.

custom car alarms did a good job on my car, and they wired in the turbo timer too (and the inserted it into the space next to the cup holder, it looks nice. I just got a basic Python from them, also DEI)

My old car had a clifford IG800 with motion detector, glass break sensor, and smart windows... that was installed at "the good guys" they did a good job.

Edit: my GF used to live in a shady neighborhood and my motion detector was 2 zone. So if they stood in front of my window for to long, it gave a loud warning, and I heard it (you can adjust it) but stick your hand inside (if your windows are vented) it will set it off. The glass break sensor is good to if you don't get a motion, because you can break a window without shocking a car and manage to not set off an alarm. (my friend's window was busted with a spark plug or something, because his alarm didn't go off from the impact, which most cheap alarms go off of other than opening doors.)
