looking at 07 imprezas

so now, i'm in the market for a new wrx after my car burnt down, or maybe an sti if i dont get raped too badly by insurance.
i've noticed the listed hp and torque are lower than earlier models, which i read is a new calc method they use. but, will they be slower than a 03 wrx?
what kinda differences should i expect going from a 2.0-2.5,
are the any performance differences between the sti and sti limited?
and since i'm not in a hurry to get a car, is there a time period of the year i should wait for that has better deals?

Unless you get a limited go for an 06 it is the end of the year so they should be trying to move them off the lots.

must be living under a rock or something....

There is no replacement for displacement, remember that. mmmk?

2.5L/06+ WRX does not have AVCS like the STi. this is like honda's VTEC, variable valve timing. it makes the valves open up more to let in more air, let out more exhaust at about 4K RPM on up.

The 2.5L WRX has more low and high end torque, it pulls you along more, especially with some free flowing exhausts and tuning.

the 06 is also drive by wire, which I think makes accelleration a bit smoother.

The STi and STi limited only have cosmetic differences.

the 06 WRX has AVSC just like the STi

the 06 WRX has AVSC just like the STi its just tuned diffrent
and here is a picture of the oil line just for FYI
I have a stock 2006 WRX limited and love it I haing in there with my friend who has a 05 WRX 18G and supporting mods, mike tuned it to 240 at the wheels on Gruppe-s Dyno whitch is known for reading low so dont be scaired to get the new WRX it has a lot of punch from the factory and once you get some toys and get it tuned you will be shocked
