Looking at an 06 OBS tonight, suggestions on what to look for?
Adam@LIC let me know to check for headgasket issues. 90k miles, all CA car, clean Autocheck record. (any one got carfax?) JF1GG68696H818400
We are hoping that it's in good condition, cause we'll pretty much take it if it is. It's an auto, so I'll check the color the fluid.
Anything else?

I'll see what I can find out. It's probably a trade in, so, may not have complete maintenance records.
I can judge based on driving it tonight how it pans out. I'll know if it's shifting wrong, if the motor feels weak.
I'm not too concerned about the struts or bushings. I can replace those later, and easily on my own. I'm more focused on any know problem areas, and drivetrain. If the trans fluid has been replaced recently, as long as it drives well the Torque Converter should be in good shape, I'm pretty much planning to add a trans cooler on any car we end up buying, keep that 4EAT happy for a long long time.
This car is going to make many, many trips, esp up to Tahoe, etc. I think the owner also was doing a lot of long trips, which is fine, cause the less stop and go miles the better.

thought it was 90k, oh well
and if suspension parts are heavily worn, you could probably ask less and get the car for cheaper
ask where the owner drove so much, if he spent a lot of time in tahoe himself, there might be more wear done to the suspension because of snow conditions
good luck with the purchase

That's 'cause the WRXs get the living **** beat out of them. The NA Imprezas have been driven by boring *** folks just looking for reliable AWD transport and nothing more.

Gagan, where are you looking at the said car? If you're in the San Jose area I can come out and help you since I went through 4 auto trannies in my old, old car so I know what to look for (what makes a good tranny VS what to avoid, things like that). PM me if you want me to come out because I'll have a little free time tonight to lend a hand.

I think I'm just gonna hang back and keep my eyes open for another opportunity.
I think if the car tracks well and feels good when cornering at a reasonable speed you are good. My dads 06 auto (nerve damage to the back first auto), has a tune from Ed on it. It rips. The only thing i don't like is lack of bimbo brakes.
I'd get a compression test for the hell of it. I wrote that stipulation into my bill of sale.
