Long Shot Here: Recommendations for Expedited Passport Services in the Bay Area?
I'm willing to drive between San Leandro to San Jose (and the peninsula) to get this done. Or travel to the FiDi area of San Francisco (since it's easy to get to via BART). Any recommendations? It totally slipped my mind that the cruise I'm going to in 5 weeks requires me to have a passport. I haven't traveled out of the country since high school (roughly 11 years ago, but it's likely that the passport is 15+ years old, so chances of renewal is slim). So, I'd prefer to have my passport processed and in my hands within 3-4 weeks at most. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I dunno, my friend told me there's some places that do it cheaper or whatever. So I figured it was worth a shot to see if anyone's had any experiences getting this done somewhere or such a place exists besides the post office and what not that charges an extra $60. I have never applied for or renewed a passport before. I don't travel much at all. LOL.

If you have 4 weeks just do the application online, print it, sign it, include a check for the total amount, and you'll have it back in 2 weeks. It's your passport dude, why skimp on it? You never know when and where you will go, might as well have it.

Anywhere you do it in person will cost a lot due to processing fees. It's free money for them.

I turned in all my paperwork and for some reason it wasn't expedited at the time. (I swear I paid for it!) In the end, I ended up picking up my passport the DAY OF MY FLIGHT!! I say do it in person w/ an expedited delivery. If it doesn't come by the week of, head over to the SF office--DON'T CALL. They will tell you to schedule an appointment -.-. Just go in as soon as they open.

^^ two days before leaving on vacation last year I had forgotten that mine had expired... went to the S.F. location the day before I left and got it that day.
Just go early in the morning so you can queue up...
