Are locking lug nuts necessary?

Hi all,

I just bought a set of work emotions off a fellow member here.
Just wondering if i am living in the berkeley area, are locking lug nuts necessary?
anybody have their wheels stolen in the berkeley area?
I will go to oakland sometimes, but not all the time.
I live around the campus.

TIA.

edit: and where can i get them in the san jose/milpitas area?
i know auto innovation is one of the places, any other options?

theft can happen anywhere...even in the nicest neighborhood. if youre worried about your rims getting jacked, get some locks

theres like 20 different keys so..... if the theif wants to go start collecting keys... then yeah... but i can't see a theif spending that kinda money to get ur wheels, when they can find an easier targert

they don't have the locking ones in stock right now.
