local speaker spacers

Anyone know where I could get some speaker spacers locally? The IA kit seems pricey at $30 for two rings of plastic, but if there's no other choice, I guess I'll have to order that. I'm in San Jose... so... anything within 30 miles would probably be fine.

Thanks!

Try going to a hardware store. It may not be the optimal sound quality....but it seems to work fine for me.

get some longer screws and there should be some different length nylon spacers.

I think I used 3/8" or 1/4" ones. I'll post pics of what I am talking about when I get home....if I have any leftover spacers.

Edy,

I've got a full set of of the IA spacers (all 4 doors, the complete kit) here in my garage that I never got around to installing, and never will because I'm selling the car.

PM me if interested.

i have a complete set of front and rear spacers. Let me get the specs - i think fronts were large and rears were too but i'll double check.

they're unused.

wow, not one but two people with kits!

mcowger and bagwellfive: where are both of you located?

I started the wiring last weekend and want to try and get it done this weekend, so... spacers would be very helpful I just need the front in order to mount some 6.5" speakers.

redstage: wish I'd known years ago! when I was putting speakers on my Civic I looked at a bunch of hardware stores and never found any nylon spacers.

Are these the same as the 04 STi IA sets that you guys have? Apparently the 04 STi has some weird door action going on, and only on the 04.
