Made for 5 billion yen, "Casshern" tries to address the idealistic question proposed in Shakespear's "Hamlet" (Why do people fight with each other?) It is also a continuation of the Japanese animation, "Shinzou Ningen Casshern" which was broadcasted back in 1973. A riot occurs within the robots that were made to clean up environmental pollution. As a result, a professor of robotic engineering revised his "son" Casshern to calm the riot.

In other Anime related news:

AKIRA: Stephen Norrington (LXG) will direct a live-action adaptation of the Japanese manga Akira for Warner Bros. James Robinson and Stephen Norrington are the screenwriters and Jon Peters (Batman, Batman Returns) will produce. The project seems to be on hold and no date has been announced.

LONE WOLF AND CUB: Alive action movie has been announced for this year. It's to be helmed by Darren Aronofsky, the director of Pi and Requiem for a Dream.

NINJA SCROLL :Threshold Entertainment announced its acquisition of Ninja Scroll from leading Japanese anime studio MADHOUSE . The producers of the Mortal Kombat franchise have plans to produce the $60 million effects laden live-action samurai feature film based on the 1994 blockbuster anime movie.

Looks likes an interesting movie. Until someone said that it was based on an anime, I thought the movie seemed like an anime.

AKIRA = I dont know how I feel about that, I hate unnecessary remakes. LXG sucked and was directed for sh*t
