Lets talk Motorcycles..

Ok its time again to pick up another bike.

I'm torn between two models...

The Ducati Paul Smart

and the NCR Hyper-Motard.

Its going to be for 150 round trip a day commute.

I already have bikes for staring at so this one will be the work horse.

150 miles is a lot to commute on the Hypermotard. Have you test rode one yet? The seat position forces your weight to be way over the front end. Unless your commute consists of a lot of goat trails, I would say the Sport 1000 would be less fun, but a better choice for commuting.

I was looking at the standard Hyper Motard and thought it was sex on two wheels. Between those two, I'd take the Hyper Motard.

Yikes.... I thought the $13K price of the standard Hyper MOtard was something to think hard about.

The NCR version starts at about $50K and the full kit is almost $90K

My vote is for the Hyper Motard. I think it looks cooler than that particular Ducati, but I'm no bike aficionado. But 150 miles per day just might kill you. Or maybe not.

The Hyper Motard IS a Ducati

NCR rebuilds them custom. Guess it might be like buying an STi from Prodrive.

Yeah I'd get the half verson. Its up there in cost because the Ti frame and its like 300lbs with 135 hp.
I think I'd do the wheels, exhaust, brakes, and carbon... Maybe some motor stuff.

Good point with the wind. Didnt even think about that. Wind on the freeway would kick the **** out of me. Have to think about that... My other bikes have some faring except my 250 diana and the 175, Which I'd never ride to work anyways.

I guess I should start looking for a clean smart. They havent made any in two years. limited edition I'll have to do a dealer pole and see what I can find.
