This is a HUGE blow to the organization. I think we all knew that anything short of a Stanley Cup Finals appearance = failure. Next season they can go undefeated and no one will care until they start winning in the playoffs.

 

Actually it's been like that. This is the 12th time they've went to the playoffs without a stanley cup appearance let alone cup. They have never shown they can win except one season they reached the Western Conference Finals, other than that, they just really suck in the playoffs.

 

I know the Sharkies have long been post-season chokers. My point was that there is no way they can generate the same hype going into the playoffs next season, no matter what they do. If anything this season just made it that much harder to shake the stigma of being losers in the post-season.

 

Good, maybe they can prove something to us then... at least the Sharks won 2 games, but I feel bad for J.R. His Presidential Trophy Chicago Blackhawks didn't get to the cup either. Sad events.
