Yea it never gave finite information on how exactly it neutralized the projectile lol. It almost looked like it had some sort of force field :P. I assume it has some sort of gun on the vehicle that shoots it out of the air?

 

its got star trek shields, duh!

 

It shoots what are basically big shotgun pellets. I guess it's as if you were to defend nades thrown at you with a shotgun, except you have pinpoint accuracy.
