There's a guy who claims his 97 Eclipse GS-T has 296 HP at the wheel @ 5400 rpm and 286 lb torque @ 4500 rpm. He claims he ran 1/4 mile: 12.23 at 109.7 mph. Does this sound about right? He also says his car is smog legal in CA.

don't know about smog legal... but i'd say it's all possible.

12.3 is pushing it for a GS-T with 296hp. If it was a gsx then it might be possible. I do believe it's possible for it to be smog legal. My friend has a 98 gsx that has about everything done to it. He has a big 16g turbo, gredd fmic, full exhaust, injectors, etc.... His car passed easly.
