legacy gt from dealership already tuned?

I'm new here as well as being new to being a Subaru owner.

Anyways i thought id share my lil story with you. So i bought my 05 Subaru legacy gt 5mt from livermore subaru which was probably the best transaction until i sat down with the finance guy about warranty and gap, that's a whole other story. So staying on track. I recently won a Cobb AP v.2 from a raffle during a Mazda meet (we have a mp5 also), don't worry i exchanged it for the correct one. Anyways, upon the install it checks for recent tunes that have already been done. To my surprise it found a previous tune and I thought it was a stock reflash or something until I called cobb and they said it had to be an aftermarket tune. I ended up reflashing the computer to stage 1 since I have a spt intake and spt exhaust so far (came with it).

Pretty much I was just really surprised my car came certified from Subaru with a tune already done to it. Which led me to think if any dealerships around here are cool with aftermarket parts such as DP and UP and some other minor things. Please let me know if you have any experiences with your dealership being cool with UP and DP as I really want to go stage 2.

they likely just didn't know about the reflash and assumed it was stock.

That would be my guess. I'm sure they wouldn't know unless they hooked it up and checked it with a diag.

I wouldn't call that a perk. If it had a tune on it there's no telling what it had before the people stripped everything off and took it to the dealership.

Now if something goes wrong it's on you. I would have said something to the dealership before flashing it.

Wait... So if the car hasn't been unmarried with the AP, then it's still "married"? Then a new AP can't be installed? If so, this could be a big concerned because I bought a WRX a few months ago.

I was able to reflash it.

The car has 14k miles on it so im not too worried. Everything looked good and theres no signs of bolts being undone for any other parts. If anything the old tune made less power compared to the cobb stage 1...... so either it wasnt tuned or it was very mild.

The newer firmware on the AP V2 allows you to flash over any other tune or reflash.
