Leaking..

I was under the car and noticed some leaking. Can anyone identify what's leaking? Is it a expensive repair? Its right behind the oil filter..

Perhaps a visit to your shop.

How serious is a blown cv boot, and how much is it gonna run me to repair it?

by the time the boot has gone, its been that way for sometime...we always 100% of the time replace the axle.

we carry the Subaru Reman axles in stock...always.

feel free to PM for cost if you like

people ask me all the time why the axle boot breaks...here is the answer:

the root of the problem is that subaru has a rubber boot next to the catalytic converters and 1500+ degrees of heat over years causes rubber to turn brittle, causing it to break the boot, blow all the grease out and compromise the axle with debris and lack of proper protection (grease). this will happen approx every 5 years, its by default of the design.

there is my subie wisdom for the day
