Just wanted to thank everyone over the years I've been here. I know I haven't been around much the last few, but this place started it all for me. Alex you have a great site and it's gotten me to part with a good bit of cash over the years. I'm off to Legacy-land this weekend when I pick up my spec.B in Irvine.
Also, if anyone knows the steps to swap an ECU on a WRX please PM me, I can't find a walkthrough anywhere.
Cheers,
Tide

Remove the negative terminal on the vehicle battery and secure it.
Access the ECU by pulling back the carpet on the passenger-side footwell. You'll have to loosen or remove the screws holding the molding next to the seat and the plastic kick panel on the right-hand side.
Remove the sheetmetal cover and the ECU is retained by a few screws to the floorpan.
Remove the ECU wiring connectors - these may be little snug but they will come out if you wiggle them a bit while pulling. Easier to unplug them with the ECU off the floor but I can't remember if the screws retaining the unit are blocked by the connectors or not.
Reverse these steps to install the ECU.

tide: It's located under the passenger side carpetting. Open the passenger side door, undo the door sill (there is a circular clip near the door area where the hinge is at, undo it), then carefully unclip the rest of the sill. Lift up the carpet and you should see a kick plate. I believe it's 3 10mm bolts that hold it in, undo it. You will see the ECU under there and it should have a few connections that you can easily undo with a flathead.
Good luck.
Ah, got beat to it, oh well.
