Last North Bay "dirt drive" for the season.

Hi everyone. I've been talknig to evsoul about putting on one last dirt drive before the weather completely destroys the roads.
-----------------------------------------------------------
DATE: Jan 21th 2007 (sunday)

PLACE: Washoe House (north Petaluma) on Stoney Point Road.

TIME: leaving at 8:30 am

WHERE we going: Clearlake and back.

MILES in dirt: about 80.

TOTAL driving miles: 200+
------------------------------------------------------------
This will be a rain or shine drive. I recommend everyone have the following

1.) Full tank of gas at start.
2.) hand held radio
3.) full size spare tire
4.) food (we will not be stopping anywhere for food)
5.) water
6.) lack of whinning (your car will get beat on. maybe even chipped paint or worse)

If anyone is interested please post below.
sorry for the late notice.
****************************************
here's the list

1) bushido (rich) 2003 WRB WRX sedan
2.) drtofu (bryan) 2003 silver WRX wagon
3.) evsoul (greg) 2005 red WRX sedan
4.) psoper (pete) 2002 black WRX wagon
5.) all being (ian) 2002 WRX sedan
6.) eastbaysubaru (brian) silver Forester

****************************************

And those of you itching to do a Tarmac drive of mine... It will be happening sometime in the near future. Just waiting for a new set of tires

Just out of curiosity... what kind of tires are best for this type of driving? I'm interesting in going after seeing the pictures from the last one... but I'm still on the RE070 tires. I'm thinking of getting Dunlop WinterSpot 3Ds for going to Tahoe, but haven't decided yet.

any kind of all weather tires will be fine. I had stock WRX tires on when driving dirt alot and they always did fine. As long as the grooves are fairly deep you'll be fine.

I'm probably with Max on this one, if it were a rage up to Squaw or Kirkwood I'd be there.

Rich,

I cannot make this one... I am going snowboarding. I am torn though, because I had such a great time on the last one... I will ever so gingerly suggest to the girlfriend that we reschedule.

To all who have been tempted to take part in a dirt drive.... this is the one, and the group of guys that you want to do it with.

I'm also up in the air pending snow conditions. Fresh = no drive. No new snow = Drive

well thanks for the posts guys.
Me, i've never ski'd or snowboarded in my life. So i will not be doing that.
However i do want to learn this year.

Well even if it's just Bryan and myself it'll be fun.

Mike if you make it i can tell you, this ones a kick *** loop. And hopefully i won't be towing a car 40 miles

Greg i might be able to hook you up. I have etra 2003 wrx wheels but the tires are shot. Still it would get you off the mountain.

this sounds wicked cool but im not sure if it would be advisable for me to go. im lowerd and my re070's have over 18k on them. if the dirt roads we are taking dont require much clearance and if the road isnt too narrow im in.
oh and i havnt even looked... does my 06 STi have a full sized spare?
