Alright. I want to build a lancia stratos Grp.4 replica rally car from www.hf3000.com and so far everyone has scoffed and laughed. Am i the only person in the united states that think these cars are awesome? They are totally ugly and weird looking, but they tore it up back in the day. Anyways, and stratos lovers in here? Gimmie your opinions.

last year I found a Delta Intergrale for sale when I was in Europe. 38k euros. Only had 60k km. Nice body titanium grey color. LOL nice buldgy fenders. Hmmm.. one of those next to the STi would have neen awsome.

Sweet, its nice to know so many of you all got STYLE! My parents and friends are totally stumped on why i'd want to build one of these, but to me it seems pretty obvious. Plus i have NEVER seen one in the united states, so it would be a super unique thing to own. Probably put a honda v6 or an sr20 in it. Ferrari would be nice, but the kit costs enough by itself.

The Lancia was sideways more than it was straight, much like the old Ford Escort Brenda's and RS in the late 70's with the 2.0 engine. Unlike the gay @ss Ford Escorts we get here in the states...yuuuulllkkkkk!!!'ssss
You know what I am talking bout, Hanu Mikola days Walter Rohl, Michelle Mutton, Bojrn Bouldegard etc. and Jimmy Mcrea (collin's dad) etc. I could go on all day on rally history and I have most of the old rally tapes. I amnot that old but just idolized the rally scene since I was a kid.
Noting like Group B cars "Too Fast To Race" era....Man!!!! back then they had F1 engine HP and TQ outputs on rally cars VS now it is all regulated due to so many deaths in rally racing. If you think the boys are bad @ss now, you have not seen how they use to drive back in the days.
The tech support use to get helicoptered on location and most of the time the service tech were dangling off the cliffs in helicopters dropping off on location trying to reach the car so they can fix/service them as they broke down. Thus the change in rules due to big budget teams winning.
Oh well that is another thread entirely

Oddly enough, I was looking at Stratos kits just last week. I think it'd be fun to build one for ClubRally here in the US. I'm in the middle of a project car now, but I did some numbers, and you could put together a Hawk HF2700 with a Honda V-Tec V6 out of an Accord for about $35K, I think.
