laguna seca exhaust questions

Has anyone ever had trouble with the DB limit at laguna seca since it's at turn 5 now? What exhaust set up were you running? I was worried that my perrin tbe would be loud so i just put on the stock sti axelback, and even though it's quiet it sounds disgusting because im basically a straight pipe to the sti axelback.

oh well even if it sounds disgusting it may have to be that way. When I happen to make it to Laguna I will definitely be doing the same thing with my TXS set up.

Sounds like you need a Seca Pipe...
Basically a 90 deg mandrel bend to direct the exhaust away from the sound tower

Maybe you can get a custom silencer made like they have for the melon shooter exhausts?

you like a bent exhaust tip over a silencer? If anything I'd bend the exhaust tips straight down or even facing the underside of the car

I think you're going on Wednesday right? I'll be there with a few friends. Like any trackday, take it easy in the morning because no telling what the weather will be like. after lunch you can go hard and if the db limit is reached, you'll know to quiet down near T5. I believe they give 1-2 warnings so you should be alright.

The best way is to aim the exhaust down and away from where sound is measured. The sound waves would bounce off the ground into the air, away from the sound meter.

word...

My car couldn't run without something like this. It's not hard to do though. You can remove the axel back and get something made... or just get tips.

Is your Perrin TBE louder than COBB catted TBE?
I know that COBB full TBE is passing 92dB, not sure about 90dB though...

I'd probably hesitate doing bent exhaust tips on a tuned STI if it affects the flow.

I actually never saw Subaru with bent tips on Laguna Seca.
