I made an appointment with Carlsen to get a number of things done on Friday:
1.) 22,500 service
2.) A rattling sound coming from the engine above 6,000 RPM
3.) No boost!!!
Ckevin took the wagon for a spin and called my car “slow” Haha. It was. So I dropped it off since they said it would take the whole day. I received a call from Howard later saying it will take longer than expected, he set me up with a Legacy L from Enterprise. Not bad…. For the weekend, I pretended it was a B4.
Can’t wait till they turbo those things again.
According to Kevin, I had a clogged downpipe. He replaced it with a new one he had in the shop. He also fixed a radiator leak. Now the car runs even better than before, when I thought nothing was wrong. No more rattling sound above 6 grand (detonation). Hearing this sound actually provided a mental block that was deterring me from taking my car above 6,000 to redline. Not as fun. So now I am not scared to take it up to high RPMS. I got punch baby! Watch out now! Looks like I’ll be getting gas more often.
Kudos to Kevin, Howard, Fernando and Carlsen!

PS. Get good gas so you don’t clog your pipes!

Actually, it's the uppipe he replaced. It was getting clogged by the ECU compensating for the lower octane by putting more fuel. More fuel, more carbon build up. More carbon = clog.

hahaha, howard made a mistake again.
it's a clogged uppipe.........
many reasons why bad fuel will clog up the cat........
but OwlBoogie's problem was he keep changing gas stations . different gas station " like 76 or chervon " have different characteristic . the ECM wont learn fast enough if station keep changing on every fill up , somehow the engine running richer ....
the extra fuel and the heat burn and melt the cat and clog it up....
OwlBoogie
glad you happy about it

Yeah... I like the way your car drives with it. But right now my car is cool. BTW, I don't need to borrow that CD anymore.

recently i have a problem on my work, i promise all you guys that i " 100% will " work on you guys wrx if u request me to work on it . it's not longer work anymore, may be i have too many jobs to do , and may be the other techs doesnt have enough jobs ! jobs been giving out to others.
i understand it's more fair to other techs, but i'm still not happy about that and disappointed , because i cant 100% keep the promise for the perfect job anymore.
i'll still working on those wrx who request me to work on it, but they will give out my job to someone else "even the repair order have my name on it" if i already have a job to do.
anyway , all other techs in carlsen is good tech too, but they might not have the idea on wrx like me. so if u guys found any problems after any service, dont be shy, just call them back , tell them what's going on , then i will take a look at it.
