For that, Jerry West was a genius. Not many GM's at the time believed these high school kids would blossom into some of the best players in NBA history (Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Jermaine O'Neal, etc). LeBron doesn't count in that list of course because that boy's been hyped up to be the best thing since sliced bread for the past two years before he even put on an NBA uniform.

Anyway, they got beat by the Jazz tonight, which is sad. Although I'm optimistic about Webber coming back because I have him in my fantasy team and I've waited for a month and a half now for him to come back. I hope he was worth trading away Steve Francis for him. :banana:

Karl Malone and Gary Payton are playing for a cheap price because they want a ring real badly anyway.

 

how can you even say that. Gay Payton took a 10+ million dollar pay cut and Karl Malone took almost 17 Million dollar pay cut. So as far as buying championships, they are not. Gary is only making 4.5 mil and Karl is only making 1.5 mil a year. That is way below their market value. So I don't think that is buying a championship bro.

I'll admit, the Kings are a good "regular" season team but until they can win it all, all these victories in the regular season means nothing. Tonight, the kings got beat by the Jazz (which the Lakers beat twice this season already). The Jazz are nowhere near as good as the Lakers, yet they beat the kings. This just comes to show you that when teams go up against the Lakers, they bring their A+ game and this is hard to do in a 7 game playoff series. And I don't think that there is a team in the league that can beat the Lakers in a 7 game series (especially if they are healthy).
