I'll admit, the Kings are a good "regular" season team but until they can win it all, all these victories in the regular season means nothing. Tonight, the kings got beat by the Jazz (which the Lakers beat twice this season already). The Jazz are nowhere near as good as the Lakers, yet they beat the kings. This just comes to show you that when teams go up against the Lakers, they bring their A+ game and this is hard to do in a 7 game playoff series. And I don't think that there is a team in the league that can beat the Lakers in a 7 game series (especially if they are healthy)

how can you even say that. Gay Payton took a 10+ million dollar pay cut and Karl Malone took almost 17 Million dollar pay cut. So as far as buying championships, they are not. Gary is only making 4.5 mil and Karl is only making 1.5 mil a year. That is way below their market value. So I don't think that is buying a championship bro.

You're right. I guess I mis-stated what I was trying to say. I just don't like the fact that they pretty much have an all-star team, like the Yankees, and everyone wants to play for them just because they win lots of games and are favorites for the championship. I guess I'm more of a "route for the underdog" guy.

Ok Shaq didnt get the ball that much that night because he kept turning it over. He is horrible at handling the ball outside of the paint. As for Kobe yes he is a really good player and i respect him for that i just dont respect his team. Karl Malone is a sellout i hope he never gets a ring. I knew that he would sell out and go to the Lakers but i never would of thought GP would. Yeah it all comes down to the post season and there is no question that its going to be between the kings and the lakers for the west. Also i dont bash laker fans that have been fans for a long time thats cool. But if you are claiming lakers like only a couple seasons ago you need to get the F out.

Why is taking less money to sign with a good team selling out as opposed to NEVER coming close to winning a championship with the team(s) they were with. As far as i see it they did something quite good in the MONEY OVER CHAMPIONSHIP ERA of todays sports. Also i bet you wouldnt be saying the same had they both signed with the Kings.

It all comes down to who wins the whole thing and the Lakers sure didnt do that last season. You are talking about crying? didnt you see Kobe and Fox crying in eachothers arms like babies when they lost to the spurs? Its cool that you support a team with all your emotion but you are just a bandwagon fan. Im pretty sure you wont be rooting for the Lakers in a couple seasons because they wont be anything like the team they are now. Good luck finding a new team next season.

My only gripe against the Lakers is their 2-3 season reign because the NBA had gotten too predictable and it was always Kobe this, Shaq that. I liked to see the main nucleus of the Lakers struggle and see unlikely guys who usually don't get minutes step up like Kareem Rush, Slav, even Luke Walton at some point in the season. Hell, it was fun watching Mark Madsen play during his stay with the Lakers last season. When the entire team pulls together without relying so much on on the main players, that's the kind of Lake show I like watching. In the beginning of the season, I seriously doubted the Lakers depth because most of those guys sitting on the pine don't get enough minutes to do anything.
Speaking of playing time. Gary Payton's kinda b*tchy about how many looks he gets and how Phil Jackson's offense doesn't rely on the point guard as much as The Glove prefers. Geez man, he damn well knew what he was gettin' into when he signed.
Bottom line is that when it comes to the playoffs, I wanna see good match ups. No sweeps, most, if not all series going to the very last games. I love watching game winning shots and plays at the final seconds of a crucial game. It gives me something to talk about later and get excited about.
