kill cingular/AT & T
I am so f**king sick of their bullsh!t and their unacceptable service. I cannot even make out going calls from my frigging office in Union City between 1:00pm and 6:00pm...all dialed calls fail. Call 611 and they have no answers, except buy some GSM that is "supposed" to fix all poor service issues. I asked their rep "when you buy a fu*king new car, do you have to pay more to get an engine with it so you can actually drive the motherf*cker?" He hung up on me. I guess I can pay the bil every month for NOTHING or I can terminate my contract and pay $175 to their scam. Is anybody else going in circles with these morons?

Not to mention my mobile to mobile minutes work with AT&T customers now as well

Another point of view...
I've had nothing but good customer service and overall service from AT&T.
Billing issues are cleared up quickly, without hassle, and that is on the ONLY occasion that any issue came up.
Now Sprint PCS on the other hand? I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to use that company. They are the worst in EVERY aspect imaginable.

It is RARE when I can finish a call without losing the connection, that is when I can MAKE the call. The maddening thing is, they have absolutely no solution for anything, unless you get your checkbook out. No, I am paying for a service...to make and receive phone calls, which I have been unable to do. And they have been absolutley NO help whatsoever. It seems it is acceptable to them for customers to pay for a service that does NOT work. I can understand a poor signal in remote or even semi-remote locations. But in Union City....near Whipple and Hesperian? C'mon, there's something wrong.
But not according to Cingular~!! Yippee!! Everything is GREAT!

To put things in perpective: I had Verizon. With Verizon, I could make calls from Mines Rd, just east of Mt Hamilton. Verizon was expensive. AT&T promised me "better" service for less money. I was suckered in and did it.
Big mistake.

I have at&t/cingular, but what I don't have is reception in my own house. Honestly, about half the areas in marin county, I don't get reception, not to mention the fact that I often have to dial 415 area code when calling in the same area, and more importantly, I get voice mail days after it's left for me.
i was in union city, hayward all day today. My phone worked fine.
Btw, if i was the operator and you cussed at me, i'd hang up too. Keep in mind, it's not the operator that is dropping your calls...

actually regarding your contract, if you signed it before they At&t was actually bought out you have the right to terminate contract without having to pay the fee, now they dont like telling you this is possible but you can talk to an administrative supervisor to have the contract terminated.

i had cingular a few years ago. i had the same problems.. for the year i had it.. i could not make ANY calls. EVERY call was dropped. it was ridiculous. their towers are overloaded. my friend has AT&T currently.. once they merged, her service went to crap and now she cant make any calls either. I thought cingular would have added infrastructure by now (from the time i had them) because i know a few people who dont have problems with them. but i guess not.
