Glad that dumbass got it in the end. I hate people like this. He needs to move to the country if he can't live with it.
This is TRAFFIC people. I have an exit that is similar. If you don't close the gap, people squeeze in (which is dangerous for the lane they are exiting). If widen the gap too much, people easily slide in and you are penalizing everyone behind you.
I have to say that for what ever reason the exit I'm at, people are pretty cool about it. They know they length, and if a gap opens, everyone works to get that guy quickly into the spot and keep the flow. The dumbasses are the over-timid who straddle two lanes as the creep into a slot because of their timidity.

Nice, good job keeping cool and letting him take care of himself. There is no better way.

This.
I f-ing hate d-bags such as the one you described, i'm glad he got what he deserved. There are so many idiots out there that don't know how to drive in traffic, it's ridiculous. These asshats think they are in the right by going 65 in the carpool lane and get super butthurt if you get on their ***. it's not that difficult to move over and allow faster traffic to pass through... i think deep down it has something to do with their egos. I really truly wish CHP would pull more people over for not keeping slower traffic to the right, or even make a PSA on TV about it

I usually just throw my blinders on and cruise along at whatever speed I can easily maintain, the less clutch work the better. Traffic is nothing to get upset about, or I'd be a much angrier person.

It's like this everyday on the 580/680 interchange in Dublin. I hate driving through it, sometimes I rather just take local road to get on 680 then to deal with it.
