well, the DLAB is based on a made up language called Esperanto, which has plenty of resources online. I also scored very well on langauge aptitude when I took my ASVAB, and English is actually my second language (Tagalog is my first, French is my third). I have a knack for languages, so I think I would do okay.

bah! DLPT won't get me active duty time at DLI, getting paid to learn a language!
Besides, my tagalog is a crib language, so I understand it well, but don't speak it well, and my vocab is shoddy enough that I have to struggle to remember words sometimes. very good listening, lousy speaking. My french is 4 years of HS, with Honors and AP thrown in, but I wouldn't want to take the DLPT and score a 0, 0
. The whole point of doing it is to get the military to pay me to learn a language I actually want to learn.

Our facility contracts with an outside IT place...and they suck **** through a straw (billed me $300 for adding a laptop to our domain
)...so we're considering hiring an in house guy.
We're almost exclusively windoze servers, but the more experience and flexibility, the better. About 30 people now. I will certainly post here when the hiring time is more concrete.
Good luck joe

If anyone has a junior tech position I'd be grateful. I have 3 years of windows/mac/linux/Unix/Netoworking/Security/Sales/Managerial experience from my current job as a tech but my boss is retarded and treats everyone really bad and we get paid like 1/2 of what we are supposed to and stuff.

SCat and SonicSuby,
I work at Deltanet (IT division of Delta Dental of CA) in Rancho Cordova. I'm a NT Sys Engineer.
Right now, officially, there's an open Help Desk Level II position where I work.
Also there's an open contracting position on my team. (Windows server team). I don't know how long the contract is for, but I know that if you end up being a good fit for the team, you'd be strongly considered for a full time position when they become available in 2004.
Email me VERY SOON for more information if you think you'd be interested. For the contract position, they move VERY quickly!

That would be cool
It's like a perfect world - you help a fellow i-clubber get employment so they can mod their car, and your company cuts you a check for referring them and you get to mod your car
