I was wondering about that...this got posted I think last week or something and I noticed that the car hits him then kinda flips over him. Glad to know he survived..hopefully not paralyzed or anything like that.

my guess is that it's mutual.
Looks to me like the PT was running a yellow..(other cars other side were slowing) and the SUV was probably looking at the light and saw it go yellow for them and was rolling his red....
If that is the case, it's the SUV's fault. I got in a similar accident...no hitting of walkers....and I got nailed. Other guy ran a red light and I rolled a green. Legally I didn't run a light...but the law states you can't enter and intersection if there's already someone in it.
The thing that's crazy and what makes me think the SUV was light watching is that the dude was walking across the street.....even if that car didn't go through, the SUV would have nailed the padestrian anyways.
I say SUV all the way.

I just watched it again. You can actually see the guy flinch when the cars hit.
thing that sucks is that the SUV was obviously light watching...I mean if you look at where the cars hit and where that padestrian is....he would have gotten hit....
crappy situation with lots wrong.
Padestrian. Walking with head down...not paying attention. Walking when not suppose to walk. (possibly headphones)
PT....old lady. Running red.....probably very close to a yellow.....
SUV....not watching the road or the other cars around them. Light watching.
All 3 did something dangerous and very illegal.
Any cell phones involved?
I mean this is just one of those situations when all 3 parties did something that people often do but they all did them at the same time in the same place...sucks.
