I just wanted to say thanks publicly to Mike @ MPJ. This guy is great!
Me, BobbyD, and Egan are all at Thunderhill yesterday (6/25/04) (we caravanned down from Sac together) when Mike and Neil pull up right next to us and unload the rally car for a day of tarmac. All is going pretty well through out the day. Then in the last session for yellow group the Red flag comes out and all stop on the track (Apparently some small grass fire off turn 8, I think). So I’m sitting there right before turn 3, talking out the window with another guy in a blue WRX (can’t remember his name, but a very nice guy who is a good driver) and I notice some smoke coming off my car. We get off track and the car is smoking badly. After about 30 min to let the car cool down I jack it up and put it on stands. To make a long story even longer, Mike volunteers to get under the car and see what is going on. After a few minutes, oil getting on Mike’s shirt and a few “oh ****s that’s still hot”, he says the oil line from the turbo to the block has a small hole where oil is spraying out all over the place. I determine it’s my bad for routing the line (which was stainless steel braided) in that location so close to the uppipe without any type of added protection from the heat.
Anyway, the car was un-drivable without loosing all my oil on the way home and melting down the engine. Getting to that area to even try and fix the problem requires removing the downpipe, which we had no time for since the track closed at 6:30 and no replacement parts. We thought about maybe to use some duct tape (the wonderful magic fix all tape) but oil and adhesive backed tapes don’t really mix and it was to hard to get anything up into that space.
I tried to see about getting a tow home maybe using AAA but I didn’t have a card and my wife’s card only covered like 10 miles and she was not around. I hated to ask Mike but I did and he said yes. Yes he would drive me and my car back to Sacramento/Antelope from Thunderhill using his trailer for the rally car!!!!!! This guy saved me major money and let alone the possible bashing I would get from my wife if she would have had to come and give me the AAA card or if I had to spend $500 bucks to get the car home (like I don’t spend enough money as it is on the car).
This is the kinda guy you want on you team, Mike and MPJ! He’s helped me out before with car parts, but never in a million years would I have expected him to help me out like this, driving me and my car all the way back to Sac and then himself back to Willows for the Rally-x the next day with Neil.
Thanks again Mike! I fully appreciate it and will always be in debt to you and will of course use MPJ for all my future purchases. I’ll shout it from the roof tops the next time anyone asks me where to get something. MPJ, MPJ, MPJ!!!!! Call and ask for Mike.
Best regards,
Lowball (Lance B.)

Just glad he was there and that Sac wasn't toooooooo far for him to tow me back. Just sucks for him as well, having to drive all the way back to Thunderhill alone with no conversation to keep him awake.
Thanks again Mike!
