clay bar takes a good amount of time if the car is as dirty as you say... sometimes up to 2 hours... rest of it goes by real fast... while i wait for the wax to dry i vacuum the car, do the wheels and such.. if anything i could get a small tv and you could play some xbox or something.. but its just easier dropping it off and picking it up...
