Yahoo! spoke fairly highly of Ike Diogu.

Why even bother if you look at the Warriors past history with awesome draft picks it will tell the whole story. THEY TRADE THEM

or once their contract is up they bolt.

we'll see how this kid fits. He's got game...and it's hard to tell until they play with the big dogs. Great college players can be jokes and joe nobodies can turn into superstars.

i rewatched the draft later that night on espn. right before stern annouced the warriors pick, one of the espn dudes managed to say "IKE."

watching more and more video and stats about this dude, makes me feel the warriors did do a good job this year.

a 7'4" wingspan?!?!?!?

a shooter from outside and 80% FT?!?

i see a good 05-06 year...

yeah...I have to admit I didn't know much about the guy but I like the looks of a few other options. I just remember hearing this kid is tough. The warriors need that. And they need someone that can play right now. With this kids build, rebounding, defense and inside scoring I think he can. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him playing in the rookie all star game. I'm glad they didn't pick Green. I don't think he would have fit.

and take it from me....wing span and good foot work can make up for a good 3-5 inches of height. I'm only 5'10. But when I was actively playing I had no problem defending and out rebounding guys that were a good 4-5 inches taller. My brother is 6'4 and I could get to ***** quicker than him.

I really like Villanueva.

but I think the warriors really need a tough guy that can rebound and score when he gets the pass...I think this kid fits. I"m looking forward to seeing him play.

I'm definately much happier with this draft than last years. MUCH MUCH happier. The two guys they picked up in the 2nd round are athletic guys that could really work out well. I'd be surprised if they don't both find a place.

my project starting line up...

F, michael dunleavy...

PF, troy murphy

C, foyle

PG, baron davis

SG, jason richardson.

6th man, derek fisher

diogu will see TONS of minutes if foyle or murphy gets hurts early on. biedrins need to BULK up fast, this season otherwise, he's gonna pushed around alot.

right now, they have 15 guys. need to trim 3.

they're gonna trade someone.

Honestly..and I hate to say this cause I think the dude is solid..>i wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of combo deal with murphy envolved in it. But maybe that's just cause he frustrates me. The guy is really talented and can pretty much do it all...but he's got no *****. He's boring. He just kinda goes with whatever. He could do so much better than he is. If he snaps out of it, biedrin bulks up and davis plays like he did last year....the warriors are gonna be solid. I mean watch the games when murphy actually shows some emotion and gets fired up..he goes off.

I think that the two gusy they snagged in the second round should be given a chance to stick around...they're good athletes.

I wish they didn't dump so much money in foyle. They'd have a chance at trading him if they didn't. But they need him for the time being. Til beidrins fills out. But hey..he's the youngest on the team...he's gonna need time to fill out. Shoot..he's younger than the highschool kid they just drafted.

I could see any number of things/people going. Hopefully not murphy but he's the most value for them...tradeable. Or dunleavy but I don't see that happening. White. Foyle. Peitrus

be interesting. I'm holding out hope for the two young bucks. shoot if they stay and someone like cheaney goes...they'll have one of the youngest rosters in the nba..haa. Be like the a's.

well, the espn analyst dude last nite said IKE was the steal of the draft from the top 10 teams...

murph believes he's a NOT a power forward. he's bulking up and needs to pound down low.

dunleavy needs more push. i'm glad montgomery can give him that push.

big question is, what to do with late addition of the "european" players last season? they filled in great down the stretch.

i havent been so happy about the warriors after the draft in a looooooooooong time.

i have a connection at work that shares great season tixs. i'm gonna have to give her a ton of hints...

Yeah this is probably my favorite draft next to the richardson/arenas/murphy draft.

I'm pretty stoked on the second round pick ups and after some research Ike looks incredible. I was reading up that he didn't get invited to some of the work outs or he would have gone higher. And that the warriors staff was incredibly tight lipped about what they thought about him. Good move mullymull.

I'm lookin forward to next season. We should have a BAIC warriors game meet. Maybe when they play the lakers since we have some fans of the lake as well.

Man Ike is a beast. First guy since AC green to rank in the tops of the pac ten in pretty much every damn catagory..haaa. Good size. Athletic. Good feet. Etc.

IF recently history has anything to do with it...the 9 pick will to really well.
Recent 9 pick have been...Amare Stoudemire, Dirk Nowitzki, Tracy McGrady, Shawn Marion, etc. Seems to me that is a slot where a lot of great athletes fall. The guys people couldn't really peg. Some flopped.....like ed obannon...I didn't see that comin. It's almost a slot for raw athletics over talent.....

didn't the NBA change all of next year's rosters to 15 man rosters instead of 12?

They can get rid of Rodney White and Calbert Chaeney.

As long as the keep Zarko...I'll be happy! Did you see the game he had against Houston, he hit like 6-7 three pointers!

Zarko's great but he's really hesistant to shoot the ball sometimes (with the exception of that one game because he was feeling it) and he doesn't bother to get rebounds for some reason. I picked him a couple times for espn's daily fantasy bball and he's given me some decent points but has disappointed me more often than not lol. I still like him though

problem with trying to trade murphy is that huge contract. I expect him to play alot at the 5 with all the big men that they have.
