there are gonna be some seriously quality players at that pick this season. very deep field.
Not sure who I'd take...depends on who falls that far. I'd say there are about 3/4 guys they could take there and if they play as well as they have the potential to play could be impact players.
But shoot...I'd almost trade down and pick up that high school kid. that forward. Risky but isn't risk fun..haaaa. Kids only played like 2/3 years...insane..haa.
Is powell eligible for the pros or is he trying to play for cal again? I'd almost try to offer him a contract and see if he can hack it. That kid...when he's healthy..he's a baller.

i thought this day would never come again, but I am starting to root for the "Warriors" again too. I hope they/Mullin make a good pick that pans out. Rumors are that they're high on Hakim Warrick from Syracuse. I like Warrick, but he really needs to bulk up a bit and work on his handles to make it in the League.
oh, yeah.................
We need a legit center, power forward, & point guard!!

at the very least a center. They have a couple decent forwards and kobe can handle just fine and passes plenty when people score....or when people actually want the ball. Guys on that team run from the ball like it's got kobe's bad karma on it.

"Warriors" & management really make it hard to root for them.
I know it's early, but w/so many other quality players still left, why choose Diogu?? IMO, Danny Granger, Hakim Warrick, Gerald Green (high schooler), even fat Sean May from UNC would've been better choices.Oh well, we'll see who the Lake Show picks. It's their pick now.
EDIT: Lakers just picked Andrew Bynum, a HS guy, but the WRONG young'n!? I thought they were after Gerald Green?? Oh well, I hope Kupcake & Phil Jackson know what they're doing.......less shots taken away from Kobe at least!

aparently they picked....I'm at work and don't have it live.
yeah I agree. I think that granger would make a more immediate impact and for some reason I get a good feeling about gerald green. I think he could be a solid baller. One of those two would have been my pick
shoot....even Charlie Villanueva and Warrick would have been better. I don't get what it is with this awe of euro players right now. just cause they're from overseas doesn't mean they're gonna be insane.

Must be something in Cali's water. Gerald Green has more upside/potential than any of the guys picked from #4 on down. I have a bad feeling the "Warriors", Lake Show, and others will regret passing on him.
Green isn't ready to contribute much yet, especially up to Phil Jackson's standards, so I'm guessing they went w/Bynum cuz he's bigger and probably can play more minutes right away. Plus, Green is a slasher/shooter like Kobe, and perhaps Jackson and Lakers management are weary of throwing another gunner into the mix w/Kobe.

I think that green was probably a bad fit for both the lakers and the warriors.
A stable club that can raise him right will what I think...reap great reward by drafting him. He's got TONS of upside. I think on a team....shoot even a team like the pistons or pacers he could develop a little slower and do really really well.
