Its back....NorCal Rally School (Fall Edition)
Hey I-Clubbers...haven't been on here much, as is life and such getting in the way of my internet forum shenanigans, so sorry for the late notice.
The 2013 NorCal Rally School (which was canceled earlier this year) will be October 11,12,13th (rally cross open to all will be the 13th).
Location: Santa Rosa (Sonoma County Fairgrounds)
Please go here to sign up for the school:
Primitive Racing Performance Parts
If you are unfamiliar with Paul' schools...the schedule goes like this:
Friday around 5:30PM class begins....ends later that night. Bring food, drink, and be prepared to discuss why sideways is fast (or slow) around a corner.
Saturday: on the field by 8am....helmet on head and ready to drive.
Drive all day long....left, right, sideways, Tokyo Drift, taste dirt, watch the locals watch you drive.
Sunday: Rally Cross....get your car tech'd, pick a class, race others, win, lose, draw.
Also,
WE ALSO NEED INSTRUCTORS and RALLY CARS TO RENT!! You will get paid to instruct, and paid to rent your car if you want.
Please PM me at up2mtns at gmail.com for more info.
RallyX registration will be open soon. As far as I know, this is the only FALL rally cross, right?

yes, just once a year though. Paul Eklund comes down from Portland, OR for it.
If you don't know who Paul is (or me, for that matter), we're stage rally guys running this event to teach normal folks how to drive on dirt, and maybe get a few rallyX/Stage rally converts

I did it once in my Justy - it's probably extremely fun in a real car. I can't even imagine doing this in a prepped rally car.
I am hoping to sign up but I am thinking that money would be better spent getting my car back on the road, unfortunately.
Looks like SO MUCH fun.

Unfortunately I didn't get to rally much this year, but I did win High Desert Trails in May.

Agreed I would love to do this as long as it doesn't cause too much damage to my daily driver. I already have primitive skid plates I just need to put them to good use

You want alot of sidewall on your tire. Paul mentioned 16's with 205/60 snow or all season tires would be ideal for my wrx. You want to have a soft suspension with good ground clearance. The most common damage most people seem to get is from their front lip hitting ruts, flats from low profile tires, or wheel damage from gravel.
My car has been tuned for the street with coilovers and a stiff suspension so i decided to rent a car to try the sport out first.
