But it is still a sensitive idea for some and that spray collar is a great option.

btw, if anybody has any pet questions, PM's are welcome
Shock callers still ARE violent, unnecessary, and ineffective compared to the spray collar previously mentioned. Don't let the new marketing fool you.

Walter, I have one of the spray collars for my Basset that you can borrow if you want to try it.

shock collars are a bad option, not because they hurt the dog, but because they teach the dog only to obey when the collar is on.

I had a roomate that had a pitbull that was the biggest pig headed dog ever. Would never listen and I swear do **** out of spite.

we got a shock collar for him.

he would only behave when the collar was on.

We used to give our dog one of those chewy treats before we left. It would keep her occupied and keep her quite. Shes able to rip through that treat now..but at least shes quite. Plus shes also grown up a bit and just sits in the room by herself now. She only gets all crazy when we leave at a time we aren't supposed to leave at.. it's weird how she knows those things.

They actually make dummy shock and (I think) spray collars for this very reason.

We put the spray collar on her the second we got home and "tested it out" by knocking on the wall. Needless to say, she was very quiet when she came back from the other side of the room
