IPhone

So any suggestions shoudl i wait for IPhone or it is going to be a war like Playstation 3 where the phone will be sold for a hopeless premium.

I am looking for a phone which is click and syncs with exchange. IPhone looks cool but the keyboard is kinda clumsy. don't know if i will like it.

I am really not a fan of all features on the phone but the IPhone just looks cool and the technoligy is just awesome.

any suggestions

at $600 premium, people will be flocking to this like white on rice...

right now, the palm 700w can sync up to exchange.

i think blackberrys will too.

there is no k/b on the iphone. everything is generated on the fly and the touch panel will detect where your finger is.

i just heard that motorola has a patent to have a scent releasing phone. glad apple doesnt have it, or else who'd want an iReek...

(stolen from eweek's specen katt's column... lol... http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1895,2133062,00.asp)

I don't know how the iPhone will work with exchange or other windows applications. I don't know what they are going to do for an address book on windows. There should be a fair number of them available upon release. There will not be a mark up on it.

Cingular's Blackberry 8800 should be able to do what you need and also has google maps on it, and will show you where on the map you are.

Exchange i don't know but contacts address book will work through ITunes. Exchange one can use OWA. Hopefully Safari supports OWA.

Any windows mobile phone can sync with Exchange using activesync. Blackberry can sync using a BES and Palm OS phones can use Versamail w/activesync or Good Mobile Messaging with a Good Server.

Blackberries can actually do exchange without BES as well (they end up using OWA).

I'm not really a fan of the iPhone (even if it's not out yet).

The onscreen keyboard can be an annoyance if you think about it. I'd rather use a regular number-pad than that.

The battery life is also a bit iffy in my opinion.

To me, it's more of a fashion-chic-mainstream-ish phone. Even though other PDA type phones may be thicker, I'd much rather get a BB or a Cingular 8525 if you ask me.

for an average PC owner, the iphone is a waste,

for a MAC owner (me) it is a great addition to the computer.

Time will tell. Looks like June 20 may be the official launch date. Some analysts are expecting 1 million sold in the first 3 months.

I'm excited to see what happens with it and own one around version 2+. I expect first revision at Macworld next January.

I won't be purchasing one right away. I'll wait until the first revision AT LEAST if not the second. And I'll wait for the memory to go up and the price to drop. Sorry..$600 for something I talk and and stick in my pocket....um no.
