Insurance... Who... Why?

This is an elaboration on the previous insurance thread.

Who do you have?
Who do you recommend?
Why?

Broker recommendations?

Im looking to change companies in the next couple days. This could be a good resource for everyone.

me. currently.
Mercury. I love it. They've been great. But they're a bit expensive.

I've got AIG right now. It still is a little high. About $133 a month. But I also have high limits. $100,000-300,000 bodily injury. Stuff like that. Dawn has Geico and we just added the Legacy onto hers and she is paying $84.50 a month. So I may be switching my car over to Geico. I don't like that AIG wants their 6 month premium in one payment. They will break it into 2 payments, but they charge an installment fee for that and then it's still just 2 payments. Which sucks.

I would recommend this to younger drivers because you get a rate discount if you are taking 9+ units. My rates haven't gone up nor have they dramatically decreased. I've had a couple accidents (none that were my fault including one totalled WRX, again not my fault!)

I've talked to reps numerous times and have always been treated with respect and have also been shown plenty of repsect for my age when they investigated claims. I am now 22 and will most likely switch over to them myself once I'm off my parents' plan.

Rates are fair for my driving record. Far better than AIG or AAA would have been plus I get better treatment.

eSurance, cuz after my wife had a second wreck, our previous insurer dropped us. eSurance was cheap. I've heard stories of their claims service being a problem but so far no claims with them.

Just waiting for her record to clear up so we can get normal insurance again.

first accident, the rate didnt even go up, and when you are insured, your wife and kids dont even have to buy the insurance. they will cover it even if they crashed your car. their rate is good, and very good service.

thats for car insurance, as if you want life insurance or other types insurance i would be happy to help you. World Financial Group, im a insurance agent, im happy to help with any questions.

my agent 1. has been my parents agen since before i was born and 2. i used to work for him.

i had mercury for a bit while i had a less than desireable record...and i hated them! guess theyve gotten better? Progressive and Geico seem to work well.

My friend just did a nono in his bugeye wagon and Geico is taking care of him really well, easy to deal with.

They were the cheapest for me because of some deal they have with Subaru. $170/month.

Once I get more "experience" under my belt then i'll switch to something else.
zero accidents, minor speeding tickets, but started driving at 21, instead of 16 like most of the people here.

Ummm, that's how all car insurance works. The vehicle itself is covered regardless of who is driving; that's not a "feature".

I have State Farm. Now that I own a home the rates for our 3 cars and home all comboed up are tough to beat and I know their claims process inside and out since I deal w/ them so much in my work.

If you care at all about good service go with: SF, Wawanesa or 21st Century (now AIG).

And my standard disclaimer: Farmers sucks, as does Mercury.

Liberty Mutual; they hook it up; at 22 I was only paying $180 for a fully covered 2006 (brand new at the time) wrx and I would only have paid $200 for a fully covered STi; for my age and having 2 points that was good. They also hooked it up with renters insurance for $20 bucks and it covers all my computer equipment and camera gear; they are tight and I've been happy with them 100%. Now I pay $140 a month for the car and renters included; this may I turn 25 and it should go down even more! High fives for that!

Off topic; american express is a tight credit card company; they have fixed my computer twice for me for free and covered a iPod at no cost for me as well. Wouldn't do business with anyone else if I didn't have too.

I forgot to mention this is all under my name with no history; not with mom or multiple cars; seems high but I was happy with it being a kid at the time and doing it solo.

Thumbs up

MetLife. Dropped my Farmer's insurance by $100/month. Also signed-up because it's auto paycheck deduction at work so one less bill not to worry about.
