Installed HP+ pads, now have a rubbing sound

I just installed HP+ pads all the way around. Squeaks but thats normal with these pads...but there is a rubbing noise of some sort coming from the right rear and i can't seem to figure it out. it sounds like metal on metal. i just checked it out to see if there was anything abnormal looking but it looks fine.

any thoughts?

Try checking the brake shield, it bends pretty easy, and might have gotten pushed to rub on your rotor.

Happened to me once, easy fix in the parking lot.

Did you install the pads on old/unturned rotors?

Is the noise more like a grind or a squeak?

the pads i replaced were not completely worn yet, in fact they had 60-70% meat left on them. And the rotors are in good shape, not warped or anything.

you should have the rotors turned when you change to different pads. IE stock to HP+.

^^?? Never heard that one before... what about people that swap brakes before going to track days? I didn't have to when I switch mine back and forth.

As long as you don't use your ebrake after heavy braking sessions, or bed in a new set of brake pads properly, they should be fine. I would only turn rotors if they're suspect of being warped.

it's a squel and it comes and goes just depends on how hot the pads are
