Damn I hate hearing about **** like this!
Do you all remember the last few times they closed the bay bridge for the Memorial Weekend? I remember Bart running 24-7 and going out everyday, taking a cab to Bart, and then taking off into the city. It was great, being able to get smashed, not have to worry about DD's and getting back on Bart and going back to Oakland and grabbing a cab home.
I remember looking around and observing all the people who were tore up and thinking, "Damn, these are the cats that brave it and cross the bridge after drinking up the night."
Then I wondered, Why on earth would they NOT leave Bart running on late, say 4Am, on Saturday/Sunday mornings? I am sure a LOT of these DUI's and bridge issues would not go down. Not to say no one would drive from Bart to their house drunk but still I think it would probably help. Who knows ???
I think the bay area needs to get behind some new hours of transportation. Granted it would cost more to run but I do think a lot of people would take advantage of such an opportunity.
