IMAX vs XD

i'm only going by the numerous movies i have seen at the UC cent 25 XD theater and the few times i have seen IMAX at the dublin and metreon theaters.
XD was created to be both digital in video and audio. while still maintaining same size theater.
IMAX's speciality is the size of the capturing device. most movies are captured with a 35mm camera. well in analog format.
IMAX uses a 70mm size film. yes, some films use 70mm as well. but these are rare.
what separates IMAX from traditional film is that the audio is put on a separate media. that is to use all of the film as much as possible. the audio is just synced to the video.
now you'd think i would be a big fan of IMAX. which i am. but i would rather watch a movie in XD than IMAX.
why?
IMAX needs a special theater to view them. plus i cant stand the "closeness" you are, at least the ones in the dublin regency theaters.
heck, did you know IMAX can be shown in smaller screen? i saw a movie in a theater in las vegas usinga mini IMAX. i saw AVATAR on it and was disappointed. i just saw AVATAR in the UC XD theater just a week or two before so i wanted to compare it. i was disappointed.
plus currently, due to size and the added cost of IMAX film and cameras, a full featured film cannot be shot entirely with it.
now, back to XD. at least in the UCC25, they redid theater #13 when they installed the XD system. best thing? the seats all recline. all seats have arm rests that could be folded in. the other theaters in UCC25 have alternating rows where either the seats recline or the arm rest can be folded in.
one downside i did notice with the UCC25 XD theater. i noticed that each row are now numbered and each seat is also numbered. i see in the future that cinemark will go to a preferred seating payment plan based on the seat location... i fear that day...
