Chevrolet Silverado SS! HAWT! You know you want it!
I've driven one of those on an autocross course, and they handle like no other trunk, with that AWD they just stick!

no towing capacity, but all you have to do is add a blower, and peace to all the lightnings!

for towing purpose, it has to be a V-8. How much are you looking to spend realistically is the question. Nothing tows like the older GM trucks with an allison transmition.

I'm thinking of looking at a 95+ Dodge 1ton Dually as a tow rig. They aren't that expensive, and the Cummins turbo diesel will run forever. But the questionable Dodge build quality makes me wonder.

I would love to get a 99+ Ford SuperDuty Powerstroke. But I have to have cash leftover for more race tires.

Well I am looking to spend less than $10k so most of the trucks listed don't fall into my poverty stricken budget.

what's up with all this anti Ford crap around here. IMO, Ford builds some the most heavy duty trucks. I'm not bashing any of the other brands mentioned here either. They are all great trucks. I only mentioned that my cousin had a 1991 F350 for sale. It's been a great truck. The only reason he is selling it is that he sold his race car and now it just sits in the garage. Plenty of power too. I can remember numerous times that we pulled the grapevine at 70 mph plus fully loaded with tools, trailer plus car. Total weight somewhere around 12k lbs. We've had nothing but good luck with Ford trucks.

I loved my F350 powerstroke. After a few toys from bullydog that sucker could get up and boogie, I couldn't even tell when the boat was behind it. (if you love your toys stay away from marriage )

Ford does good trucks, but whatever you get I'd make sure to get a diesel. I got fantastic gas mileage even with a hair over 400hp and 700lb-ft. As long as you do regular maintenance a diesel will outlast a conventional by large margin.
