if you have mild mods just go back to the stock tune
if you are concerned about passing drive it far enough to set all the monitors and then get it smogged,
depends on where you go if you can get away with a aftermarket catted down pipe,
even though it has a cat it is still not legal for california. and considered modified exhaust.

with the amount of time you have probably checked this thread to find out if you could pass the smog test you could have changed your dp to stock and flashed back to stock. why take the chance? just do the changes for one day and change it back or change it back next weekend. theres not reason to deal with the hassle if you still have the stock DP. is an hour or two of work changing it and changing it back and forth worth the hassle of having to go back and forth to the smog test center and dealing with dmv or dealiong with multiple smog centers? do it once and be done
Mine passed w catless aftermarket up, dp and my usual tune. Other mods inc avo380, fmic, injectors, all on the car. It barely passed though, but the tune is too rich, so if I had a better tune it would have easily Passed.

Dude I just went throught this.
Most smog shops offer a free retest within 30 days.
GO IN AS IS. I am stage 2+ consisting of hybrid and cosworth 272's. The cams make my car run rich as hell and I tried to pass with a helix high flow DP. It was not gonna hapen. So I put the stock dp on and passed with flying colors.
My cams are the only reason I failed at idle. You will be fine. If you fail get a factory dp and go back for your free retest....

/\ This!
Ive already got two cars that failed smog to pass by throwing a couple gallons of E85 in it, it knocks your HCs WAY down! But dont do more than 2 gallons for every 10 of gas, too much E85 will make you run lean and bump your NoX levels up pretty high which can also make you fail, my NoX was pretty high but still within limits.
