took my gf to Horizons in Sausalito. nice restaurant. you'd think after spending $85 everything would be fine. turns out, they hit the side of my car. scrape across the rear driver side door and rear panel. the door is dented in a little. Its not bad.. but i dont like having to deal with the hassle of getting it fixed. not sure the extent of the damage, cause it's dark now and my car is HELLA dirty. gotta clean it rain or shine now tomorrow morning. Thank god there was a witness. someone left a note on my driver seat leaving his number and telling me what happened. i wouldnt have even known the car got hit had it not been for the note.

i know i shouldnt have parked valet. but i was already 45 mins late, and i've only been to sausalito 2 times before in my life, so i dont know the street parking situation.

seriously tho. who hit you? was it the valet parker? they should definitely pay you for the damage. i personally dont trust valet parkers anymore after witnessing them at davis. i was sitting in my car and watching a lady trying to valet park a stick. she didnt even know how to start the car. she didnt know that you have to push the clutch in to start it. when she finally started it, i could just hear her burning the clutch.

i would never let someone else park my car. especially a subaru. they probably would care less about what happens to our cars unlike a bmw or benz.

HKBEEF, that sucks mang, sorry to hear that. I also dont trust valets, they have too much freedom. Havent you seen that episode of Fastlane where the valet's steal the guy's house stuff? I hope you get it fixed, better than my door

I've used valets in SF and Vegas on three different cars and they've never messed up anything so far but moving the seat forward which you can NEVER get back into "your" spot but beyond that it's been all good...

 

thats one of my issues....

i hate it when my seat is all out of wack...pisses me off so bad, i can never get back to the "sweetspot" which allows me to sleep with one eye and drive with the other

Well.....considering my "other" car is unusual (i.e. modified) enough that you have to worry about the valets pulling off something like the valets in Ferris Bueller's Day Off......

Let's just say I'll goto GREAT lengths to NEVER valet park the car!

checked out the damage. Rear driver side door scraped and dented. Rear quarter panel scraped. Rear driver side rim scraped/curb rash. luckily nothing too bad.

and my door wont look as bad as dorifto's. hell, right now even when dented it dont look that bad!

not sure if its worth the effort to replace the rim. might ask for cash and use that for other goodies. the rim doesnt seem to have any structural damage, just curb rash. contacted all the parties involved and waiting for their return calls.

 

This thread got me thinkin. First dorifto, then impreza01, now hkbeef. i hope i'm not next. *knocks on wood*

then again...my car is black. all you guys have blue cars.

 

i don't let anyone park my car unless it's the valet guys by my place in SF. That's because I know all of them, they never mess with my car, and they always hook me up with parking.

 

when did impreza01 get hit?

btw. the car they used to hit mine. was a brand new porsche boxter S

Sausalito is like the Marina district or Chinatown - 1500 cars, 1000 parking spots. It's a shame about your car. Hope they make good on it. I believe some valet attendants to abuse vehicles. I have a simple rule-of-thumb - "Never hand over the keys to anyone unless you've been drinking", and for valet attendants, "If you wanna drive someone else's car, go to Hertz and rent one."
