And, oh yeah, it was Safeway on Folsom in Rancho Cordova, just down the street from Hazel and next to the Wal-Mart I don't know where I'll be shopping over there in the future, I'd like to go to Gold River but it's over the freeway and the traffic sucks

 

I'm glad you stopped him before he messed with your car and that no one was hurt.

The perp may have been working with an accomplice that was supposed to be acting as a lookout. That may explain why the guy had the headset on while attempting to jack your car or the contents. The accomplice might have bungled his duties but called his buddy as a 'opt out' of the situation, if you gave him a rash of ****.

If it ever happens again, it might be good to catch him in the act but be wary of an accomplice because they are the ones who will be packing, not the perp busting into your car. Call the cops. They love to catch this type of crook in the act. Avoid direct confrontation with the perp, if possible, unless you're with other people.

I still think it would be worth the time to contact the local PD anyways and tell them what happened and give them a description. I'm sure the guy has jacked other cars in the area and the police would be interested.
