I saw Chopper (the i-club dog) at hammy a few years ago being jumped over by 2 other dogs....he just stood there panting, not batting an eyelid. Cool dog.

I too like pits. I'm just not sure if having a full bred pit will be a liability or even allowed under our insurance policy at the shop. Maybe I'll dig around for a pit/lab mix. I know that's what Ed wants so I don't wanna bite off him.

Another dog that you wouldn't think would be a very good guard dog is a FULL size Poodle. Not only are poodles the smartest dog breed that exists, but they are VICIOUS when you train them to be... The are tall and have MASSIVE jaws much like the doberman which makes it easier for them to get to the neck whereas a pit bull has a wide jaw and not a long one like the other two I just mentioned.

I took care of a big *** doberman a couple years back... Weighed 125lbs and ran faster then hell! They are very quick and good on their feet.

The normal sized pit bulls are not that strong, they are pretty small actually... The range for a standard Pit is 35-50lbs... But there are special breeds that go to around 100lbs. The little ones would be a snack for a doberman or poodle.

If you dont believe me about the poodles, look it up... They may look fancy but they are bad ***!

I believe you about the Poodles (seen a dog special on Animal Planet or something ), but gotta disagree about the Doberman/Pitbull thing. A dog bred for fighting Bulls will always have the upper hand over just about any dog. A Doberman should be taller and leaner than most Pitbulls but in the same weight class as Pitbulls. Interested in seeing this 125lbs Doberman you speak of because that would be one BIG Doberman, if it is a full blood Doberman.

Well theres no doubt they are more aggressive or have a larger "omgbad" spectrum if you let them fall that low...but their friendly good spectrum is the same as any other dog raised in the same environment.

i know 2 different rottweilers that were put down, because both bit their owner. One was a little girl in the face, and the other was an adult on her lip. You gotta know the dog breed's history is before committing. My neighbors wolf/husky takes down deer and is sweet as can be in person, when instinct is gone.

Awesome pic steezy!

bignb408, like most that have posted, the hate against Pitbulls is pretty outrageous. Instead of giving the dog a chance, they push it away.

sosteezy, any recent shots of Tank?? I gotta get some recent shots of my own Pitbull, she's getting so big SO FAST!! BTW, like Ive said before, Tank is gorgeous!

i agree with you bruce, Pits get such a bad wrap from the media, and it spreads to the general population like a disease.

Thanks man. Yea, hes a fighter...

Tank - 25

Chew Toys - 0

He even chewed through a toy that was labeled "INDESTRUCTIBLE" when he was a puppy, in a matter of minutes at that. It was made of some material that fire fighter suits are made of apparently. I asked him why he chewed up all his toys and he just...
