I just threw on some 17 x 7.5 Bronze Rota Actions on my black sedan today with some 235/45ZR17 Daytons(anyone heard of them...branch off Bridgestone I guess). While the shop was putting them on I made a few calls about putting the 235 and i was told that is not the best idea because the sidewall is going to flex and hard cornering is going to feel "squirmy." I haven't gotten off of work yet to go out and mash them, but on mylunch i took it for a drive and got some wheel rub in the front and a constant less distinct noise in the rear. I was wondering if I'm going to need to get those camber bolts in the back to adjust my rear wheels so they wear evenly. As far as the fronts go, I'm going to raise my rideheight and see if that will solve that problem. Has anyone gotten wheel rub when they install their rims? I should have goine with the 225/45ZR17s, but it was too late. I hope this all works out. Ill throw some pics up.

Oh yea by any chance does anyone know the part number for the camber bolts from H&R? Thanks

 

on a 7.5 wide rim, the 235 will have a bit more rounded mounted position. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's not necessarily a good thing either.

With the 235's the tire will break away earlier under hard lateral g's (cornering), but the transition from grip to slip will be a little more gradual than on 225's.

Conversely, the 225's will have more ultimate grip (on those rims), but they will let go more suddenly (so you better be paying attention).

 

Should I get an alignment first to see if maybe that will correct the camber all around or should i raise the height of it a little, buy rear camber bolts, then align? I want to keep it at the height it is now and see if alignment will fix being that the sidewall 45 series tire on 235 is larger than the 45 of a 225 wide tire.

 

Ya, get some rear camber bolts, then roll the fenders.
