hey ryan, why do keys have a code for them if they dont have the immobilizer chip for anyways? is it just for reordering purposes?

damny kyle!! wtf... thats why u duplicate ur keys ahead of time and let certain people hold on to the spares... so u kno who to run to when ish happens.

and WTF.. how did i get this rep all of a sudden!??! x002x status!?!? WTH!?!?!? well kyle if its any consolation to you... i was bored the thursday night... so i went to quiznos and a liquor store and bought a bottle of patron. went to my friends house to have dinner and kill the bottle of patron w/ her... next thing u know.. its 9pm friday night and i have a big fat headache

Keys are coded so they can be remade the same, yes. If the have an immobilizer that is a totally different code and a bit harder to get. The code just says how deep or shallow to cut the key.

Kyle, yes... you need proof of ownership. I can't get a key for your car and you can't get a key from a random car you copied the VIN to. Word.

Cool. yeah the problem is my work keys are those huge "BEST" company ones, they are really thick and i have like 6 of them, so i dont like them tossing and turning as i turn, so ive always kept my single loose car key in my wallet...

I made my own wallet out of duct tape, and the pockets arent as tight as i would like them to be, so thats how my key fell out...i shouldve made a special key slot.

LOLLLLL...Only because of the thread streak youve had the past month or so of pre partying aka making a new thread before you go out haha.

I have spares of course, but when i go to open my door...(yes, i dont have a magic button thingy) i twist the lock one way, and with the spare keys, they dont return to center like the stock one...so its like a deadbolt on the door of your house, you have to turn it each direction...yes it matters to me, especially if its time lost if a murderer is trying to get me...

If I was a mechanic and someone called me and said their car would not start, I would say, "Hey - maybe a killer is after you!" -Mitch Hedberg
