Not sure about a 2 night thing. But for a 1 night occasion the Horn Blower is a pretty good time. Fancy, great food, good scenery.. all around good time. And they may do an overnight thing, im not sure. But the dinner cruise is great!

i was thinking of going up a cruise and waking up at another location kind of thing!

going up the cruise for 2 - 3 hours for a meal and come back down just dont seem long enough time for a getaway.

Anyone here went on a cruise before?

I went on one in Asia where we boarded from Singapore and ended up in Bangkok, Thailand. That experience was pretty good. .

What about a Mexico cruise?? They have 3-4 days for around $300-400 although most leave out of LA. I went on one a couple years ago and plan on going on one again soon.

SF ports don't host cruise lines regularly. You'd have to go to LA. Carnival has a cruise that leaves every Fri. and back on Mon. It goes to Encinada. It's a lot of fun.

heedz: I am not looking for a drive cruise! its a boat cruise. lol

jakeg: i cant leave the country..

i was hoping to get on a cruise from SF itself so I dont have to go all the way to LA to hop on the cruise.

which company or website do you go to for these cruises?

well, to be clear, i do not (and cannot ) want to leave the country. Just want to hop on the cruise, enjoy for 2 days and come back fresh ..

I think Carnival will let you get on without a passport. You just have to stay on the ship when everyone else gets off the ship to walk around.

Princess Cruise has 2 trips from SF to Vancouver 1-way in May. I think you'll still need passport.

AFAIK, you ALWAYS need passport when the ship gets out of the country whether you get off the ship or not... it's the LAW.

Mexico is incredibly cheap right now, partially due to the whole drug war thing.

I am pretty sure my parents are going on this. Damn Finals!!! I might be able to go though. My mom is a travel agent and usually finds the good deals. There arent many cruises out of the Bay area

Haha man I did pretty much this about a week ago. Minus the overnight. Soooo much fun. Quimby road up to Lick, back down the other side all the way out to Livermore instead of Patterson. Ended up on Tesla road, ironically enough. And then all the way back. Four hours total. Can't think of a better way to use a quiet morning. Great drive.

Sorry to go off topic.

Since you cant leave the country, Hawaii or Baja would be your best bet imo. I would talk to some travel agencies because they can get the best rates in my experience.

offtopic but did you end up finding a buyer for the Subaru?
