hey i have a serious questoin about jobs, if you apply for a job, and they call you back, but you werent there to pick up, is that bad, or are they going to call back again? im worried i missed my chance. why did i have to lend my cell phone to my stupid cousin...damn.
well if they really wanted you to come in to talk with them, they would have left a message, as logic would have it. or an email which they could get off your resume.

I want to do something that requires analytical/problem solving skills.
I can do a toooon of things.
Computers, cars, healthcare, management, office/clerical, advertising, etc.
Wage? Whatever suits the position.
Long term? Only if it's something that requires a brain and keeps me mentally stimulated.

A good way to target jobs may be to actually sit back, and think of a particular field that utilizes analytical/problem solving skills and that is what you may consider challenging. After you've decided what it is that you want to go into, then just target jobs in that particular area. One thing employers can see when they are interviewing, is how much you really want the job. If you have your mind set that you want to go down a particular route, then it will show and your enthusiasm and confidence will go much further than just skills on your resume. Many people are just as qualified if not more, then why would they choose you? Because if you're enthusiastic, you'll get it done better. So what would you consider analytical? Think tank stuff? Number crunching? Or more theoretical challenges?
Best of luck in your search...

Try school career centers as well for jobs... Monster.com, Craigslist, etc. etc.
Just get as many resumes out as possible. And remember to tailor your resume and cover letters to each opportunity...
May also want to consider head hunting companies... They are actually quite good and can generate better overall offers/packages from companies.

babysmurf: Thanks for the post, alas, I already knew that. I send out more than 15 resumes a day to places from craigslist and monster. I've interviewed a few times, one place took someone who had an in-state licensure and another turned out to be a telemarketing gig. :O
I just need to pay bills, man.

I work for a little computer company. We're usually hiring, although things are a little touchy right now. Go check:

and see what's there. If you find a req you're interested in, send it to me and I'll see if I can get some extra info for you.
