I Need Help To Decide

ok.. heres my dilema... I installed the 3/16 mod...works great. no problems so far. But for some reason. I can see my gas gauge go down...fast...but not that fast...well..its burning faster!

my point is. should I keep the mod in place? or should I worry about gas....?

ok...here i go..

on stock, I was flooring it in 1st gear and my gauge was like around +.05 - +.07... thats roughly 9 psi I believe. 2nd gear was about .9

after the 3/16.. 1st hit 1.3 bar and so did 2nd

but when cruiseing...stock stayed under 0 bar. so it would be always -.0 ..but after the mod... cruiseing...would hit +.1 to +.3 ....and I know im wasteing hellla gas fastere...I'm almost at half tank with only 108 miles...usually I get abour 150-170 miles to half tank...

i assume the gas consumption is normal then.

I don't think this would have much to do with it, but did you reset your ECU? I just installed the 3/16 mod a few weeks ago and I'm spiking like crazy, but my gas mileage is the same as before, spoolup is just a little bit earlier. Also, what mods do you have on your car?

yeah.. its normal...I read that it tricks the ECU...blah blah blah...

but should I keep the 3/16 mod for POWER...or should I but it back to stock for GAS MILEAGE

which one should I choose?

if you're asking for my opinion, i would put the stock restrictor back in, and go for the alternative route of getting a custom tune. But that can be a bit costly.

You could try resetting the ECU and see if that makes a difference. There is a possibility your BOV is messing with it, if it's %100 atmospheric. I've heard this mod does better on stocker cars...I've got more mods done to mine and that's probably why it's spiking. If you don't want to custom tune it yet, you could buy an upgraded boost silenoid with different lines. That's what I'm going to end up doing when I take this 3/16 connector off....OR, you could try a 5/32 mod.

Well, the stock connector is a hair smaller than 1/8 of an inch, so if you installed a 3/32 connector, it would actually be smaller, which wouldn't do you any good. That's the point in replacing the restrictor with a bigger one, so you get more flow, quicker. There was a few guys on Nabisco who kept their stock restrictor in there and just switched up the stock boost lines. Some said it worked, others didn't. Do a search on that site for '3/16 mod'.
