I need everyone's opinions!

Hey guys!

So here's what's going on...basically the 18G I ordered wasn't shipped from the guys that Speed Element ordered it from. So Ryan called me back and said that the vendor (I'm not sure what they are called) said that if I wanted, they could upgrade me to a 35R turbo (which I assume is the GT35R) FREE OF CHARGE because they admitted to the fault that they were out of the 18G turbos (I can't remember the exact details Ryan told me, but it went something like that). They gave me the choice of waiting an additional 2-3 weeks for the availability of an 18G and then having it shipped OR basically a FREE upgrade to a GT35R turbo.

BTW, if you guys haven't checked out SpeedElement, definitely check them out.

NOW, I have no knowledge of what the 35R turbo is like.

Should I stick it out and wait for the 18G or make the jump to the GT35R turbo? I don't want to wait...

If I go with the GT35R, is there any special supporting mods I need?

What's the best route?

If you guys could chime in, AWESOME!

Thanks!!!

I would get the gt35r and sell it It's a much bigger turbo than the 18g and it also retails for more

but first I would find out exactly what turbo it is before making a decision

Curious, what kind of driving you will mostly be doing . . . AutoX, drag, track days, street, etc?

Also what mods do you currently have both installed and/or waiting to be installed?

That's what I'm afraid of and that I'd make too much power with the 35R and I'd have to spend even more money on supporting mods (i read i'll need an EWG and have it welded on to my uppipe), kuz I've been looking about the GT35R and it seems to make crazy @ss numbers!!!

Or maybe I'll fall back on my idea of the VF34...IDK

I wouldn't do a 35R on a 2.0... too laggy. Unless you build the 2.0 and run E85 or race gas or meth, that would be fun.

Running a 35R on your stock-internaled EJ205 is asking for disaster. I second the "get it and sell it and buy something smaller" sentiment.

I was thinking of just doing that anyways, having the vendor ship it and I'll make the purchase of another turbo instead.

I've been going before between:

-Forced Performance TD05-68HTA Turbo
-IHI VF 34 Turbo
-Blouch TD05H-18G Turbocharger (supposedly they have this in stock from extremepsi.com.....?!?!)
-Blouch TD05H 20G Turbo

.....decisions...decisions....

Since they are willing to give you the GT35r and it is more expensive, see if they are willing to give you a discount on the 18g you want.

this would seem a good idea. Or get the 18g and ask if they can lower the price for something else

Ryan @ Speed Element has already been hooking me up with mad discounts, so I don't think I could ask for more. Plus, they ordered it from a vendor for me, so IDK how that would work. Now that I think about it, it might be more beneficial for me to just TRY and sell the 35R when I receive it.

Until then, I gotta decide on another turbo...
