i.Link GT3 with only 2 players?

I've finally been trying i.Link with GT3 and I get two player going through the parameters, and when its time to get to the track, player 1 goes back to "i.Link Battle" parameters page with no available buttons to press and player 2 goes to a blank screen and the machine seems basically hung. Any ideas?

The instructions say you can use a 4-4 pin direct link between 2 consoles to 2 player i-Link but to use a hub for 3 or more players. Does this mean you MUST use a direct link for two players (i.e. its only cross-over cable mode for 2 players?)

thanx,

jason

You can use the hub for 2 to 6 players. I am not quite sure what is causing the second machine to get hung up though. I have not encountered that problem. By the way, if you want some good racing action against humans instead of AI, you should get online with TOCA Race Driver 2. The game is pretty good as a stand alone single player game, but really kicks butt once you get online and play against a whole group of Germans in the DTM races or against a group of Brits in a Formula Ford race.

All I can really think of is to try a 4-4 cable just for kicks, and find a 3rd or 4th console to test with to rule out one of the 2 consoles I currently have to play with aren't freaking out. Thanx for the 2-player info.
