The site's been rice-a-fied, in a rusted honda with spray-paint kinda way.
And don't get me started on it not working in Safari (Mac user here).

I like this new version too. But do think it is harder to read posts and it dose take alot longer to load than the other version did. the posts almost look cluttered alittle with the space in between each post. I do agree with the RICE-A-FIED comment LOL

I don't know what it is either, but my eyes hurt too.
It also ONLY displays 800 pixels wide on my screen, whatever the resolution. At work I run 1600x1200, it looks really dumb only taking up half of the available screen real-estate with the cheesy faded background taking up the rest. I don't remember the old forums doing that.
