The whole story behind the Tommy Lee Jones Boss Coffee commercials is that he's supposed to be an alien trying to learn about humans by experiencing life as one, so he ends up in all sorts of ridiculous jobs/situations, all while he's always stern/somber looking. Those commercials are classics in Nippon.
